Non-Organic Food?
In spite of growing awareness over rising grocery costs, Americans continue to shell out for fresh organic produce. U.S. shoppers collectively spent more than $9 billion on organic fruits and vegetables last year. That’s more than was spent on conventional produce, even though organic items have a significant markup. People are willing to pay a premium for organic fruits and vegetables. The "organic" designation isn't necessarily a measure of how healthy or nutritious a food is.

8 common food additives linked to high blood pressure in new study
The results of a recent study published in the European Heart Journal suggest that certain common preservatives in food may increase hypertension and cardiovascular risk. Because this observational study cannot prove causation — other factors may explain the link — the authors call for further research. They also call for a re-evaluation of the risks by the relevant bodies, including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).

New research led by scientists at the University of Liverpool in the UK, and presented at the European Congress on Obesity (ECO 2026), could have an answer. GLP-1 drugs are named after the glucagon-like peptide-1 hormone that they mimic, which helps suppress appetite, regulate insulin and blood sugar, and slow digestion.

A New Study Just Revealed How Your Drink of Choice Affects Your Lifespan
Is there really a difference in reaching for a glass of wine over a bottle of beer? Besides the change in price and taste, a new study suggests that your drink of choice may affect your lifespan. A decades-long study from a team of scientists at the Second Xiangya Hospital in Changsha, China analyzed data from UK Biobank, an ongoing U.K. study which has collected the de-identified health data of half a million people, to see how different kinds of alcohol impacted participants’ health.
