Processed Red Meat May Raise Risk of Cognitive Decline, Dementia
The number of new cases of dementia diagnosed in the U.S. each year is projected to double by 2060, reaching 1 million cases annually. Various factors drive dementia risk. There is evidence to suggest that diet may play a role. A new study has found that those who eat more red meat, particularly processed red meat, may be at higher risk for dementia and cognitive decline. The findings build on prior evidence linking processed red meat consumption and dementia risk.

Physically inactive children have higher rates of depression and anxiety, study finds
An analysis of data from the National Survey of Children’s Health has found that physically inactive children exhibit higher rates of anxiety and depression compared to their physically active peers, especially pronounced in children with autism and ADHD, who had significantly higher prevalence rates of these disorders than their healthy peers, regardless of physical activity levels, according to the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders.
